As a society, I think dance games for Wii and XBOX have become a cultural norm. They’re fun and offer a decent amount of exercise. We own a bunch, and as a family … we really enjoy them. However! I’ve never really considered taking any of the moves I’ve learned or mastered during these games out in public. You know what I’m talking about, right? They’re not weird … they’re just not the type of moves you’d do at a nightclub, or even a wedding. Until now. The Hip Hop Dance Experience by Ubisoft, offers all the fun and fitness benefits of other dance games, but it also happens to teach legitimately cool dance moves you can take with you. Cool for guys, cool for gals. In fact, most of the routines were created by the choreographers who’ve made folks like Michael Jackson, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj look cool. LaurieAnn Gibson and Dave Scott are the real deal.
The Hip Hop Dance Experience also showcases some of the coolest hip-hop music you know. In fact, the selection is “so cool”, the box clearly states that it was not designed for children. I’m a pretty conservative Mommy and I haven’t really heard anything concerning yet, but maybe I’ve just been missing it. Either way. I LOVE the music and I LOVE the moves.
My favorite songs?
- “One, Two Step” by Ciara featuring Missy Elliot
- “Look at Me Now” by Chris Brown featuring Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes
- “International Love” by Pitbull featuring Chris Brown
- “She Wants to Move” by N.E.R.D”
- “Lean Back” by Terror Squad featuring Fat Joe and Remy
We actually break out our Wii dance games at big parties or small get-togethers. The Hip Hop Dance Experience would be a PERFECT addition to your house party, frat party, bachelorette party, slumber party, workout or just a fun solution to a stressful workday.
