Jumping rope vigorously can burn up to 700 calories per hour. Did you know that jumping rope for 10 minutes is equivalent to running an 8 minute mile? Jumping rope is convenient – you don’t have to go anywhere to do it, it only requires a three dollar rope, some sneakers and your set. Another benefit? Jumping rope can be is easier on your knees than running. 500 calories? Psshhh. Jump for an hour and blow past that with no problemo.
