Have you ever heard someone tell you to slow down while strength training? The reason for this is because if you go too fast, you may not even be breaking down your muscles which is needed for them to grow stronger! If you can’t display concrete form without racing, go slower with lighter weights.  This will advance your efforts far more than going fast with a heavy weight. Try this example to see what I’m talking about.

Example: Bicep Curl

Grab a weight you think you can curl for 10 quickly. Do that set; wait about a minute.

Now grab half that weight and try doing one rep up while counting 3 Mississippi, and go down counting 3 Mississippi. Try to do that 10 times.

Now you tell me if you see a difference.
