Running for Women by Kara Goucher, an Olympic Distance Runner, is a book which doesn’t provide a specific training regimen, but does answer every other question you could possibly have about running. Kara talks about how to get started, how to eat for long runs, what to wear, avoiding injuries, running in all types of weather, gaining confidence, marathon training and more. It’s a pretty good read with experienced answers to all the little obstacles you may encounter while becoming a runner. If running is going to take a large role in your fitness training, I’d give this book a go.
