While searching for healthy, low fat, red or blue dessert choices for the Fourth of July, I came across this sweet recipe on FitBottomedGirls.com. The perfect choice for a blistering hot holiday!

Ingredients
2 cups organic frozen strawberries
2 cups organic frozen blackberries
2 to 3 tbsp maple syrup or malt barley syrup
1/3 c slivered blanched almonds

Directions
1. Measure out berries and load them in food processor. Wait 15 minutes for berries to thaw.

2. Choose manual pulse on food processor and gradually pulse until berries begin to break. Then choose automatic pulse and process until smooth—about a minute or two. Add syrup and process again.

3. Remove sorbet from food processor container and stir in almonds. Enjoy immediately!
