Regardless of what kind of exercise you’re into, there is a common problem that we all have to deal with; all those sweaty workout clothes. Exercising every day will leave you with a pile of wet laundry that can really cause odors to linger on the clothes even after washing. If you are having trouble getting the smell out of your regular workout clothes there are a few things you can do to improve your situation.

Hang Them Out to Dry: Leaving wet clothes in the hamper creates a perfect breeding ground for the bacteria that cause odors. When you get home from the gym hang your clothes up to dry overnight before putting them in the dirty clothes bin.

Baking Soda: Add a half cup of baking soda to the wash. This is my go to solution and it seems to work every time. The baking soda really neutralizes the odor.

Vinegar: After the clothes go through the wash add 2 ounces of white vinegar to the rinse cycle. The vinegar will kill some of the bacteria and neutralize the odors.

Lemon Juice:  If you have some really foul smelling gym clothes try mixing a half cup of lemon juice in a gallon of water and then let the clothes soak before washing.

What do you do to remove that stink, stank, stunk from you gym clothes? We’d love for you to share your tricks with us!
