I’ve got to give credit to Mario Lopez; he knows his stuff when it comes to not only looking fit, but actually becoming healthy too. I’ve just read through his new book Extra Lean Family, which is a follow-up to his first book, Extra Lean. Mario combines solid advice with over 50 nutritious recipes and meal plans to go with them. I haven’t made any of the actual recipes, but they look pretty decent. I have, however, read through the first chapter which is what I consider the most important part of the book. In this chapter, Mario talks not about dieting, but on understanding food and managing it. He breaks this lesson down in to three vital topics and for that alone, I think this book is worth the read. The three topics are: understanding your metabolism, 10 simple nutrition rules to boost your metabolism, and practicing portion control.
Mario has always looked the part of a “fit guy”. He’s certainly not a phony and really has some quality advice to share. Put some trust in this new Dad and give Extra Lean Family a go!
