Make Your Own Headband

Don’t spend money on overpriced, name brand headbands when you can make one yourself in less than 5 minutes!  All you need are a pair of women’s tights.

Grab a colorful pair of tights (or panty hose for the old school ladies) from Target, Walmart, Old Navy or other retailers.  The little girl section of stores usually has the best choices for multicolored, bright, and even patterned tights.  Girl’s tights are reasonably priced too, usually costing around $5.

First, remove the packaging and arrange the tights so they are fully unrolled and flat on the ground.  At the toe of the tights, cut straight across, removing the closed toed tip of each leg.

Next, at the start of the actual leg of the tight, cut straight across separating the leg part of the tight from the part that goes up around your waist.  Do this on both sides, for each leg of the tights creating two strips.

Finally, take one of the strips and wrap it around your head .  Tie the ends in a knot in the back of your head.

That’s it, you did it!  You now have a personalized headband that is stretchy, comfortable, and sized perfectly to your head.  This craft makes two headbands, so share the other with workout buddies.  Match your running shoes to your new head-wear and hit the gym!
