Working out is something that both boys and girls love to do. The trend is now for women to take on rough and tough training like CrossFit, mud runs and boot camps. While that’s all completely fabulous in every way, some gals just don’t WANT rope burns, mud in their hair or skinned knees. We totally respect that! Luckily, there are tons of options to work up a sweat like a lady. Spice up your routine with these challenging, fun, and girly workouts.
- Pilates For total body strengthening, Pilates is for you. It helps to build both flexibility and power in your legs, arms, hips, abs, and back. It will also improve your coordination immensely. The exercises can be easily modified to fit your level of fitness, which makes the class enjoyable for everyone. No loud masculine weight room grunts required.
- Spinning Take bike riding to a whole new level with this one! New Spinning classes makes you feel like you’re at a nightclub. The energy is so upbeat that you can’t help but sing along to the music and enjoy the ride, even if you’re drenched in sweat. The best part is the crazy amount of calories you burn in just one hour. No rocks or cliffs required, like outdoor mountain biking.
- Yoga There is nothing more relaxing and renewing than a good stretch. Yoga is great for your body and your mind. Sometimes we forget to breathe. I mean really breathe. Yoga helps you focus on your breath and empty your thoughts while also giving you a fantastic workout. Contorting your body into new poses will work muscles you didn’t even know existed. Your posture and your flexibility will dramatically improve. I can promise, you will be sore the next day. Men look stupid in yoga pants. They were designed for you, ladies!
- Zumba You don’t have to be a pro dancer to sign up for a class! People of all ages and coordination levels love Zumba. There’s just something about dancing to fun music with a big group of people. It’s a blast. The more you go, the easier and more enjoyable it gets. After just a few classes, you’ll notice lots of definition in your abs.
- Kickboxing So many people have the misconception that kickboxing involves an actual boxing match. Yes, there is some jabbing involved but there is no real fighting. Group kickboxing classes where participants punch the air is just a different version of aerobics. It’s fun, challenging and doesn’t put your pretty little nose at risk at all. Stick with it and your body will change!
Of course men can do Pilates, Spinning, Zumba and Kickboxing too. We’re not calling these workouts lame. But if you’re not in to all the rough stuff, these classes will certainly float your boat!
