If you’d like to escape holiday weight gain, follow this simple rule of thumb for baking. Only bake desserts when you’re able to give the bulk of your treats away. Even if you’re baking low-fat cookies or cakes, they still account for extra calories. Leaving temptation on the counter is unfair to your efforts to become more fit. Bake some goodies, enjoy one, and give the rest away.
