Hit the Ground Running to Beat Migraines

Regular exercise is the ultimate form of preventive medicine. In addition to weight loss benefits, exercising a few times a week has been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, Alzheimer’s, and depression. Well, we can add one more long term health benefit to the list; fewer headaches.

Swedish researchers found that 40 minutes of exercise performed three times a week reduced the number of headaches experienced my migraine sufferers in a given month. It might not sound like a huge gain, but the regular exercise proved just as effective as common prescription medication used to treat migraines.
