Amazing!!! Koehler’s preservation and determination through this EXTREMELY difficult journey was AMAZING, to say the least! Through it all she continued to inspire and give hope to so many others. Not only does her journey provide incredible strength and courage for those with cancer, it also gives great insight to healthcare workers! I am a Registered Nurse and truly believe and practice care that gives the utmost empathy and compassion for all patients. Koehler validates how important and memorable EVERY encounter becomes for patients! I laughed and cried throughout the book and could ‘feel’ the authors sentiments. She maintained a ‘race/game face’ throughout it all while continuing her passion to work which provides such hope and encouragement for others in difficult situations. That race/game face is inspiring!!!! Sharing the ‘background (behind the face) after the journey gives EVERYONE hope that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE and inspires others to push a little harder, fight a little longer, focus on the positives, and to always remember…..
