What inspired you to become a Fitzness Ambassador?
A couple of years ago, I heard Fitz speak in Buffalo and was really inspired. I was struggling after losing my mom to brain cancer and losing my job and life post-COVID. My dad and I went to the Buffalo Marathon pasta dinner, and Fitz gave the talk I needed to hear.
It was a combination of “life is definitely tough, but we can be tougher.” I was training for the Chicago Marathon and kept hearing, “I can do hard things.” I finished Chicago (slowly) and then decided that I had dealt with the challenging emotional stuff, and it was time to manage the weight gain that went along with it.  Fitz called me after Chicago, and I asked for help. Within a week, I started following the Formula.
Honestly, so much came together, and a lot came from that aha moment the night before the Buffalo Half Marathon.
I’m about 55-60 lbs lighter.

How did you first discover Fitzness, and what has been your journey so far?

I’d heard of her from Running Stiff (I follow lots of Facebook groups) but really from the Buffalo Marathon.
What are your favorite forms of exercise?
Running, yoga, and walking.
How do you stay motivated in your fitness journey?
I sign up for races 🙂
But also, I know how much I struggle emotionally when I’m not active, so I make myself do something.
Also … dogs!
Have you used the Exact Formula for Weight Loss?
Yes!  I’ve been doing it for almost two years now. It took me about ten months to reach my goal weight, which I’ve maintained since (within about five or so pounds). It’s a simple concept, and it works. I’ve had to adjust it a bit for marathon training (more calories!).
What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone starting their fitness journey?
It doesn’t have to be elaborate. Start where you are and find something you like so you look forward to it.
What are your personal fitness goals for the next year?
1. Marine Corps Marathon. Run it confidently and believe in myself.
2. Stay committed to my goals of consistent workouts and healthy eating.
3. Focus on my mental health.
How do you plan to inspire others in the Fitzness community?
I’d love to continue to share positive messages and show that fitness is fun.
Favorite healthy food:
Salad – with lots of yummy stuff in it.
Favorite unhealthy food:

What fitness accomplishment are you most proud of?
Running the NYC Marathon for my mom & raising $10,000 for the Brain Tumor Foundation.

Even though Laurel was with her dad when we met, I'm pretty sure it was her Mom brought her and I together. I'm so grateful we connected in Buffalo and that I was able to resonate with her. Laurel's success has been so big and exciting, and I know she's going to accomplish even more. ❤️🎤 Fitz
