MORE MAGAZINE’S MARCH 2014 COVER STAR: ANNA GUNN OF BREAKING BAD

NEW YORK, NY — Following her controversial role on the cult-favorite series Breaking BadAnna Gunn is poised for stardom co-starring as a detective in Gracepoint, the highly-anticipated murder mystery premiering on Fox next season. Even with her recent success—she received an Emmy for her portrayal of Skyler—Gunn isn’t letting the pressure get to her. She reflects on Breaking Bad, pushing past fear, and balancing career and family in the March 2014 issue of More magazine, on newsstands today and online at More.com.

On portraying Skyler on Breaking Bad: “You go on a journey with these characters…and [when one of them] has a trait that’s inspiring or fascinating, you get to take that with you. The other stuff, you leave on the shelf.”

On the Breaking Bad pilot: “It was one of the best scripts I’d read. I called [the casting director] back and said, ‘I’ll be in tomorrow.’”

On aging in the spotlight: “When I was in my twenties and thirties, I spent so much time worrying: the next job, the next interview, the next blog. It really was wasted time.”

On her advice for aging gracefully: “I think it’s important to continue to be curious, engaged and in wonder at the world around us.”

On the role her parents played in her early acting days: “My dad drove me to every rehearsal, even in blizzards, five nights a week. My mom made every costume. They were tremendously positive.”

On pushing past fear: “Being afraid means you care and want to do your best, so forge ahead.”
