Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion
  • 4 medium beetroots
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 green chili
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 ½ tbsp sesame seed oil

 

Instructions

  1. Cut the beetroots into medium cubes after washing and peeling.
  2. After cutting into cubes put into a medium saucepan and fill with water until covered.
  3. Cover the pan with the lid and put the stove to high heat so it can boil. After it boils reduce the heat to medium and let it cook until it is tender, usually takes about 20 to 25 minutes. After it’s done, drain the water.
  4. Next, grab a pan and put it on medium heat in order to add the oil and sauté the ginger and onion for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Mix in the beetroot from earlier, green chili and cumin and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Lastly, add the lemon juice.
