Avocados – a Do or a Don’t

By April 16, 2013October 29th, 2014No Comments

Q. Hey Fitz! I am curious to hear your take on avocados. I just bought some, and now that I see how much fat is in them, it kind of scares me! Thanks, Ann

A. Lots of calories and lots of fat. BUT!!! The fat is the “good kind” and if you use avocados wisely … they can be a good thing. Use them instead of salad dressing, as a dip or as a spread instead of something nasty like mayo. We all NEED a certain about of fat in our diets, so enjoy avocado … just do it sparingly as you would nuts.
