When it comes to inspiring others to embrace fitness and support the Fitzness brand, I rely on three guiding principles: making fitness understandable, attainable, and fun.
First, fitness has to be understandable. A lot of people are intimidated by health and exercise because they think it’s too complicated or that they need to be experts to get started. I break it down into simple, digestible advice that anyone can follow. Whether it’s through clear training videos, practical tips, or my books like Your Healthy Cancer Comeback, I ensure that my message is straightforward and actionable. When people feel like they “get it,” they’re more likely to dive in.
Second, fitness needs to feel attainable. So many people believe fitness requires endless hours at the gym or superhuman discipline, but that’s just not true. I show people that progress is about small, consistent steps, not perfection. Whether it’s squeezing in a 10-minute workout or swapping one unhealthy snack for a healthier option, I emphasize that everyone can make improvements. Showing them they can do it builds confidence and keeps them motivated.
Finally, and most importantly, I make fitness fun. Life’s too short for boring workouts and strict, joyless routines. Through my race events, podcasts, and community engagement, I infuse excitement and energy into fitness. Whether it’s cheering people on at the finish line, sharing silly stories, or encouraging friendly competition, I make fitness something people want to do. When it’s enjoyable, it stops feeling like a chore and starts feeling like a reward.
By focusing on these three pillars—understandable, attainable, and fun—I’ve been able to help countless people buy into their health and support the Fitzness brand. When fitness feels good, it becomes a lifestyle, not a task.
