Let’s face it. Fit people stink! Yes, that includes me too. I’m not saying we stink as in … we’re bad or something. I’m saying we stink, because a little bit (or a lot) of odor comes along as a result of our awesome workouts! It’s a minor side effect considering all the good our exercise sessions bring, but it’s a side effect that has to be dealt with one way or another. So I just learned that one of the easiest ingredients to use to help un-stench our stuff is Arm & Hammer Baking Soda. Most folks keep some on hand in the fridge, but this simple ingredient also has a bunch of other functions to make our lives (and sneakers) fresher!
- Training equipment: Put four tablespoons of baking soda in one quart of water to clean and deodorize stinky sports stuff like rubber weights, balance balls and water bottles.
- Golf Bags: Sprinkle Arm & Hammer in your bag to deodorize.
- Fitness apparel: Add a cup to your laundry to help your liquid detergent work even harder.
- Stinky sneakers: Sprinkle some in to your sneakers when you take them off to fight the funk. Sprinkle it out before wearing.
- Smooth skin: Did you know Arm & Hammer can be used as an exfoliant? Makes sense, doesn’t it?
- Healthy hair: My hairdresser told me to use baking soda on my hair in the shower before washing with traditional shampoo during the summer. It helps remove the chlorine and any extra buildup. It worked wonders!
