I wrote this post while participating in a blog tour conducted by Clever Girls on behalf of Dannon. I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program but my opinions are my own. Have you tried Greek yogurt yet? It’s not like regular yogurt, I assure you. I hadn’t tried it before either, but given this opportunity by Dannon … I couldn’t pass up the chance. My professional opinion? Oikos is hard core! I say this not only because of it’s thick texture, which some could easily be convinced is sour cream, but because the nutritional label offers up some powerful stats. For example, a regular Dannon Fruit on the Bottom yogurt provides 6 grams of protein per serving; commendable. Compare that to one serving of Dannon Oikos (plain) which has about 17 grams of protein per serving. Whoa! This makes a measurable difference. Protein helps make muscles and protein fills us up, which means that one serving of Oikos Greek yogurt will be far more satisfying and filling than the traditional stuff. It’s also packed with calcium and potassium which bodes well for our bones and muscles.
Dannon Oikos comes in a variety of tasty flavors and will become a smart part of my day. You could make it part of yours by keeping a four-pack in the fridge, or by buying the quart size and using it as an ingredient. With Oikos, you can skip the protein powder in your smooth and use this all natural product instead. It also makes a fine substitution for cream cheese, mayonaise or sour cream in your favorite recipes. Check out Dannon’s Oikos recipes here. I’ve also decided to start serving Dannon Oikos with Fruit on the Bottom, to my kids each morning; they’re often starving by the time lunch comes around at school and I think this may help stave off those hunger pains.
- Dannon® Oikos® 0% varieties contain active yogurt cultures and range from 80 calories (Plain) to 130 calories (Fruit on the Bottom) per 5.3 oz. cup.

I have partnered with Dannon to help promote the Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt Series. I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program, which includes writing about the promotion and product. However, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments.
