Norman Reedus plays the “bad boy” role of Daryl Dixon in AMC’s hit series The Walking Dead. Daryl’s remarkable cross-bowing skills and ability to kill zombies are undeniable, but it takes some work to get to such a high skill level. Norman Reedus was born in Hollywood, FL. and raised in Los Angeles, Ca., where he was later discovered as an actor. Reedus’ role requires him to be physically fit, as his character is always ready to slay some zombies; and isn’t that what we all love about him? - According to Men’s Fitness, Reedus must stay lean and alert and he does so by eating clean. He consumes fresh foods and avoids foods like pasta, sugar and breads. Reedus mentions that what he eats does not matter as much because he is working in 120-degree weather in Georgia. This rough environment keeps him lean, making him look much thinner than he normally does.
- Cardio is a huge part of Reedus’ role as Daryl. Reedus runs, jumps rope and swims a lot to keep his body in mint condition. According to FitDadChris, Reedus also does push-ups, sit-ups and free weights in his trailer while shooting.
- Reedus is a guy who loves nature and that keeps him looking younger. Reedus, who is now 46 years old, doesn’t look like a man closing in on 50 at all. He attributes exercising outdoors and eating clean to helping his body stay fresh.
