He has always maintained a healthy frame, but he recently lost 22 pounds for his role in Hedwig And The Angry Inch. Neil regularly exercises to maintain his physique. When Neil lived in L.A. he took classes at Cirque School, where he performed many body weight exercises and circus style tricks like handstand work, juggling, trapeze and suspension training. A rigid cardio routine was mainly to blame for his weight loss in his most recent role. Between heavy cardio and body weight strength and control, Neil has maintained his toned frame.

Another trick to his 22 pound weight loss, according to Daily Mail, is to eat earlier. Before really trying to lose weight, Neil would eat from 9:00- 10:00 p.m. on most nights. To quickly drop some pounds, Neil started eating when his daughters do, around 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. With his already exceptional metabolism, eating earlier helps him stay lean.

In addition to eating early, eating right is a main contributor to his body upkeep. His “better half” always helps keep his diet in line with cooking healthy family meals. Neil contributes by being the sous chef or the dishwasher.

A combination of an active lifestyle with good eating habits is the key to looking like this 41-year-old actor. Cardio and body weight exercises with a combination of good metabolism and smart eating has been the secret to winning him a rockin’ physique. If he can do it, why not you?
