Trying to lose weight and struggling to do so? You might be surprised to found out how much of a big difference the “little things” make. Of course overall calorie control and energy expenditure are the greatest components to your success, but you may be shocked to find how much of a difference a few simple “no thank you’s” will make. My job for you is to say “no thanks” at least five times each day when anyone offers you one of these seemingly harmless items. And yes, you can even say “no thanks” to yourself.

  • Mini muffin (blueberry) 95 calories
  • Glass of white wine (3.5 ounces) 84 calories
  • Handful of french fries 230 calories
  • Gatorade (8 ounces) 50 calories
  • Tiny piece of cheesecake sample at grocery store 90 calories
  • 3 Hershey Kisses 73.3

You see, these small infractions consumed throughout each day can lead up to a heck of a lot of extra calories overall. Remember, every bite and every beverage counts. Calories aren’t negated because it’s your birthday, Friday night, a bad day, that time of the month, Girls Night Out or Fourth of July. Make calculated choices including your decision to say “no thank you” as much as possible and enjoy saying “yes please” when offered the opportunity to buy smaller pants!
