Tea, whether it’s green, black, red or white is consumed in some way almost everywhere in the world.  People have enjoyed both its taste and nutritional benefits for thousands of years, so it’s no wonder that we still do today.  If you’re not already hooked then give tea a try, because the benefits of are amazing. These tea tidbits may surprise you:

  • Tea increases your metabolism- Both the caffeine and ECGC in green tea have been proven to increase metabolic rate.
  • Protects against cancer– The antioxidants know as polyphenols in tea have been found to protect the body against cancer causing free radicals.
  • Boosts your immune system
  • Terrific for teeth– Tea contains tannins and fluoride which help strengthen teeth and reduce plaque.
  • Stronger bones– Tea is full of photochemical which help support strong bones.
  • Has less caffeine then coffee
  • Helps your cognitive ability
  • Lowers stress– Tea has been shown to lower the stress hormone cortisol.
