Imagine being known as one of the best, the greatest. Picture the unimaginable effort put in day after day. Off-season? Ha, no such thing. But what separates the good from the great? Inches.

Tony D’Amato puts it perfectly in his Any Given Sunday speech. “The margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don’t quite make it”  “the inches we need are everywhere around us. They’re in every break of the game, every minute, every second”

But ain’t it the truth. With the Stanley Cup reaching it’s final rounds, lets take a look at Sidney Crosby, one of the best. Rumor has it, this Canadian professional hockey player makes the Great Gatsby seem like a nobody. But, with the Pittsburgh Penguin’s captain still keeping his team alive in the playoffs, it makes you wonder …….

Does Crosby eat those inches up for breakfast or what? Yes, yes he does.

Andy O’Brien, Sidney Crosby’s personal trainer, gives Metro News the inside scoop. “We do a lot of sprints and footwork, but we do it with stability enhancement, quickness and a lot of speed work. I think that’s one of the key things. Get to the track and get away from the gym. And also something as simple as the clothing, like the ZigTech Apparel he uses to train. It increases oxygen levels in the body, so it makes you more efficient and productive in your workout.”

“The best way to describe Sidney is zero complacency. He wins an Olympic gold medal and he wants to win a Stanley Cup. He defines his success very much as team success, but he always wants to win. So with that, it’s challenging to be his trainer because he’s got high expectations for me and for what we do.”

The more success he has, the more hungry he gets to have more success, so I think enjoying that moment made him look forward to more moments like that.”
