When thinking of “fast food”, most people think of greasy burgers, fried foods, and calorie-bomb dishes. Quite often, you’ll find those things. However, there are also a ton of restaurants that offer plenty of healthy options served in a hurry. Whether we’re on the road, or out and about, sometimes we all need to stop and get a quick bite away from home. Knowing where to eat will certainly help keep you on track – so here are some healthy restaurants that you can keep in mind.

  1. Panera Bread. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, they have healthy options for all three meals. Oatmeal, soup, salad, whole-wheat bread, fruit cups, and more. Panera also offers calorie counts on their menus, so you know exactly what you are getting.
  2. Subway. Another restaurant that offers calorie counts for their products. They offer vegetarian subs, lean meats like turkey and grilled chicken, a variety of veggies, and salads.
  3. Whole Foods. Every day, whole foods offers a fresh salad bar, soup, and a hot bar with freshly made foods. They have anything from vegan, to vegetarian,  meat dishes and allergy-free friendly food. You simply help yourself and pay at the register.
  4. Chipotle. Chipotle can be a great fast, healthy option as well. Grilled chicken, beans, brown rice, salsa and veggies are all tasty and good for you.

The trick with dining at these restaurants is to know what to order since there can still be unhealthy food items offered too. Keep it simple when choosing your meal, and you can keep your belly and waist-line happy. According to CBS News, there are other surprisingly healthy fast food chains available as well.
