Fiction. Crunches are probably the last thing you want to do if you are serious about losing that pesky belly fat.
If you think that only doing a certain number of crunches a day is your secret key, think again. There are a number of ways to get your tummy tighter that don’t include the basic crunch.
1. Nutrition. Have you ever heard of the expression, “abs start in the kitchen”? It’s true! Eating clean, natural, whole foods is the most important factor to keep in mind. Think about what you put into your body, manage your calories wisely and you will start to lose those inches.
2. Weight Training. If you really want to see the changes in your body, you will need to build a nice base of muscle. Muscle burns fat, even when you are not training. Burning fat will be a great contribution to trimming the belly fat.
3. Cardio. After building a muscle base, cardio is the best way to lean out. Cardio burns the most calories during a workout, which will aid in fat loss. High intensity interval training, known as HIIT, is an even smarter choice of cardio.
4. Compound Exercises. Squats, lunges, and planks, just to name a few. While performing these exercises, they utilize your entire body. Keep your core tight, and you’ll be working your abs without even realizing it.
5. Relaxing. Wait, what? That’s right. According to Web MD, stress actually increases belly fat. Make sure you are getting enough sleep, and try to avoid anxiety to help keep the belly fat at bay.
