Some fitness enthusiasts swear by their morning workouts. They like to get it done early, because hey are less likely to skip out, or they just have more energy at that time.
On the other hand, some people prefer to get it done in the evening. Whether it is the only time they can fit it in, they have more energy in the evenings, or they can’t stand the thought of waking up even earlier.
So, which group of people are working out at the “perfect time”?
Truth is – neither, or both. There is no scientific evidence that states a particular time of day has an impact on your workout performance.
- Choose the time you have the most energy. If you are one of those people who thrive in the morning, it’s obvious that you should get your workout done at that time. If you are the opposite, then get it done in the evening when you are more awake.
- Workout when you have the most time. Some folks go to work or school very early in the morning. If that’s the case, then they have no choice but to go after they get off work in the afternoon or evening. However, if you go to work or school at a later time, get your workout done beforehand so you won’t have to worry about it later.
- Make your decision based on how much sleep you got. If you got to bed much later than usual, you may want to opt for a later workout. Sleep is just as important as exercise, and if you didn’t get much, your performance may not be as great as it can be.
- Consistency is key. This is the most important thing to keep in mind. It doesn’t necessarily matter when you work out, as long as you keep it consistent. Getting into a habit will help you reach your goals!
Bottom line, it’s all about finding what YOU prefer, and what works best for you.
