This year’s USA Diving team offers the best chance at medaling in over a decade. The Chinese team has been dominant, as always, and will most likely win gold in London, but the Team USA men’s diving team will have a legitimate chance to medal in both the 10 meter platform and synchronized 10 meter platform.

David Boudia and Nick McCrory: Boudia is team USA’s best chance for the medal chance. Boudia has had an incredible year with a silver medal at the 2011 FINA World Championships and a silver in the synchronized FINA World Series. Boudia has been on top of his game and will most likely be competing for the silver or the bronze.

McCrory is David Boudia’s partner for the synchronized dive.  They placed 4th in the FINA Synchronized Diving World Cup and are hoping a good performance will propel them to the silver medal.

Tony Dumais and Kristian Ipsen: Tony Dumais is definitely the captain of Team USA diving. The 32-year-old Dumais is a three time Olympian and the winner of 35 national championships. He is teaming with the youngster, 19-year-old Kristian Ipsen, in the synchronized 3 meter springboard. Ipsen is making his first Olympic appearance, but this collegiate standout from Stanford has a room full of trophies from the junior tour.

The duo finished 5th in the World Championship and will need a significant improvement if they hope to reach the medal stand. Dumais will also compete in the 3 meter springboard.
