Fitz’s High Protein Strawberry Smoothie with COOL WHIP FREE

Making nutritious treats more fun is as easy as can be. In fact, it really couldn’t be easier. I’m talking about basics here. Blueberries, strawberries, bananas, yogurt, smoothies all seem more … exciting, with a dollop of fat free) COOL WHIP FREE Whipped Topping. I know this to be true because I am an uber-fit fitness pro with a sweet tooth and two little kids. I’m always searching for creative ways to ensure my seven and nine year old cuties consume 7-9 servings of produce each day. Sometimes I’m simply looking to jazz up my own bowl of produce too. Usually I just serve up the good stuff raw and ready for consumption, but on occasion, I serve it up in a way which makes everyone feel like we’re being given a special treat. Sure! We adults know that bananas ARE a special treat, but Ginger and Parker often need a little more to get them giddy with excitement. That’s where COOL WHIP FREE comes in. And yes, I do use it, I’m not just saying so because this article has been sponsored. It’s one of those items you can just leave in your freezer and pull out when the opportunity arises.

So with the most simple suggestion in the world, I’d like to encourage you all to jazz up any and all of your favorite fruits with a tablespoon of COOL WHIP FREE. Smear it on bananas or top a bowl of berries with it. And of course, it makes a great topping for all of your standard desserts as well. Angel food cake, ice cream, brownies and more make for a mouthful of magic when mixed with COOL WHIP FREE. Yes, I’m harping on the fat free product, but I am what I am and that matters to me. I make those simple “better choices” whenever I can. I encourage you to do the same. Did you know that 2 tablespoons of COOL WHIP FREE has only 15 calories? Not bad, aye? Especially for those trying to cut calories, yet still want to enjoy the flavors they love.

Instead of hitting up the local ice cream shop, we tend to make desserts at home as often as possible. This gives us complete control over the ingredients used and total nutritional content. One of our favorite choices is the High Protein Strawberry Smoothie. The kids can even make them themselves, because we use the Magic Bullet, which is like a mini blender. The recipe is below and the best part about it is that you can switch out the strawberries for any other fruit you choose. The Greek yogurt is really what cranks up the protein though, so stick with it!

Ingredients

5 frozen strawberries

1/2 cup nonfat milk

4 ounces of plain nonfat Greek yogurt

2 tbsp of COOL WHIP FREE

Directions

1. Throw the first three ingredients in a blender until strawberries are completely blended. Top with COOL WHIP FREE!
