A recent Men’s Fitness Magazine survey and research study named the top 25 fattest and fittest cities in America. According to their research, 12 states now have populations in which 30% or more are obese! Other fun facts include the city with the most fast food joints (Houston), heaviest drinkers (San Antonio), and the highest percentage of smokers (Tulsa). Portland boasts many healthy stats like a platinum distinction from the League of American Cyclists, the highest percentage of males who ride their bikes to work, and over half the population (54.7%) getting 30 minutes of moderate physical activity at least 5 days a week.
Bostonians have the lowest number of fast food joints in the nation and consequently spend 92% less on fast food than the national average! Meanwhile, 30% of San Francisco residents eat their veggies at least 5 times a day and 44.8% of the residents are at a healthy body weight, the highest in the nation.
